What do you do when "life has killed the dream I dream"? Or, when "the tigers come at night...tear your hope apart and turn your dream to shame"? "I find it interesting, as well as sad, that the only time we talk about broken dreams, or our agonizing doubts that they will ever become a reality, are when they are a thing of the past and never a thing of our present." I think it's sad that we never talk about our broken dreams until we've already accomplished and conquered them, and never when we are in the brokenness of them. Talking about our broken and unmet dreams is precisely what helps us accomplish them. Dreams, just like Happy Life, are meant to be accomplished together.

"You with those sad eyes, don't be discouraged" Cindi Lauper, True Colors. This special episode was recorded on location at a retreat I was speaking at for people with disabilities. So the audio quality is not the typical Happy Life Studios quality but definitely worth listening to. God spoke the worlds in to existence, but you He made by hand. In fact, "if God had to choose between all the stars, the Grand Canyon, oceans and galaxies and you? He wouldn't even think for a second. He would pick you over those things in a heartbeat!" God made us to laugh, not to be guilty. He made us to be free. To be Happy. What the world needs, is for us to be us in our purest form. For us to let our true colors, the ones God made in us, to show..."like a rainbow".
Special thanks To Ian Anderson for the use of his song "Slow" as well as Cindi Lauper and Justin Timberlake for "True Colors".

Happy day after Easter, day after Lent, day after Holy week. So why did Jesus die anyway, and what does the word "Holy" even mean? I've found people get it wrong on both sides of the spectrum. From a flippant adjective describing cows, Hell or even poo to being a word others use to control, manipulate or abuse others with, is this what God set up for us? Did He send His son to earth to die so that our sins could be forgiven, or could there be even more? You don't want to miss this life giving episode. Listen and leave encouraged. Here are the two addresses for the Bible verses I quoted: 1 Peter 1:16 and Leviticus 20:8.

In this episode I interview a very good friend to me as well as to Happy Life Studios. His name is Tony Piantine and he, with his family and team, run Camp Daniel (a camp for people who live with disabilities) in northern Wisconsin. Check them out here at www.CampDaniel.org. In this episode we use the word "community" alot. This is because Happy Life Studios believes that community is the key to happiness. We're simply happier when we're together. We need each other to be happy. This is exactly why we have decided to launch something brand new to us. It's for everyone who wants to be happier. Listen and find out what this new launch is and how it will help you become happier. Special thanks to James Kocian for the music "Still A Kid" Check out more of his cool music here soundcloud.com/james-kocian

Happy #HappinessDay. Not only is today the first day of spring, but I think it symbolic that it is also International Day of Happiness. Yes there is such a day. It was passed by the United Nations June 28 2012, by Jayme Illien, who started life as an orphan on the Streets of Calcutta, wound up in Mother Theresa's orphanage and from there ended up in front of the U.N. who unanimously passed his resolution to start the "International Day of Happiness".

Special shout out to David Choi for the music "Day of Happiness". If you liked it you can check out his other music here youtube.com/davidchoimusic

Have you ever been tempted to give up on your dreams because it just seems like your dreams have died and been buried never to be seen again? Have you ever been soooo sad you didn't know what to do or how to hang on? Have you ever wondered how life can go from being so happy to so drastically difficult so fast? Is this OK? Is it normal? And what should we do when it happens?

The good news is, the Bible tells us that those who sow in sadness will harvest in happy. Something very positive is going on that you probably don't or can't see, much like a seed planted in the ground. The truth is, what you think is dying and being buried is actually being planted and growing. If you're going or have ever gone through a sad spot, you'll want to listen to this encouraging episode. Find out what to do and how to think when life goes from happy to sad. When and where dreams seem to die.

Does social media ever make you angry? It seems sometimes that I either want to roll my eyes or chuck my mouse across the room after spending just a minute scrolling through posts. Have you ever been tempted to just throw in the towel and delete all your accounts? Lately my heart has been troubled reading a lot of social media posts. So, I would like to address the issue I see in social media because it is a real unhappy life path many are choosing to walk on. This powerful principle is one of the key ingredients to people's happy or unhappy hearts. Check it out.

Also stay tuned because I am creating some social media sites that will bring life and happy to those who visit and engage. Sites where Happy Lifers can go to increase their happy as well as meet and interact with others who are trying to stay positive in a world that can so easily bring us down.

Ever feel like you're stuck in a rut? Like you were just going around in the same sad circle? Sadly enough, sometimes the ruts we're stuck in are the ones we have made ourselves. If you've ever struggled with finding or keeping your happy then you will want to listen to this episode. In it I talk about horse walkers. I had never heard of a horse walker before but that image got me out of my rut and back on happy trails.

"Personal Reflection" and "Light as a Feather" music provided by the generosity and kindness of James Kocian. Check out more of his music here and tell him Happy Life sent you. https://soundcloud.com/james-kocian

You know what you think about you, but what would it be like if you could find out what God thinks about you? "Whoa. Hold on a minute there. Find out what God thinks about me?? NO THANKS!!" The thought of finding out what God thinks about us can be scary if one uses the wrong standard to measure by. Oftentimes the difference between successful and unsuccessful, happy and unhappy or encouraged and discouraged is simply the standard by which we measure our life by. Sometimes the only difference between a life that is a "keeper" and one that needs to be "thrown back" is a simple ruler. The measurement by which one judges, or thinks others do. This is key to living a happy life and I must say that for much of my life I simply used the wrong ruler.

This episode is brought to you in part by Camp Daniel http://www.campdaniel.org Thank you Camp Daniel, you not only change my life, you change the lives of so many others.

I'd also like to send a special shout out to my friends James Kocian https://soundcloud.com/james-kocian for providing the music "Light As A Feather" and Ian Anderson for providing the music "slow".

Can getting liked ever be bad? I mean you would think that that's the exact road you would travel to be happy, right???
Let's face it, in a world where "clicks" and "likes" (I call them clickes) are so valuable, it's easy to get sidetracked and forget why we even do what we do in the first place. However, remembering the why is a vital key to being happy. Especially if we do any social media at all. So why do we do what we do? Why did we start that business or make that comment? Listen and find out how someone can get so liked and yet still become so unhappy. Here is the popular Derek Sivers TED talks session "How to start a movement", with the dancing dude, I use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V74AxCqOTvg to talk about exactly that.

Special thanks to James Kocian for the music. Check out more of his music here; soundcloud.com/james-kocian

take it with you

Iphone_trans Listening to podcasts on your mobile devices is extremely convenient -- and it's what makes the podcasting medium so powerful.

You can take your favorite shows and mixes with you anywhere, but to do so requires some quick and simple steps.

Let's walk you through that process together.
step 1:

Click the "Subscribe With iTunes" link in the page's sidebar:

Subscribe_with_itunes

This will require that you have the iTunes software on your computer.

(You can download iTunes here.)
step 2:
Itunes_ss

Now that you've subscribed to the podcast on iTunes, the feed will display in your "Podcasts" section on the left navigation bar.

Click there and you'll see the show displayed in the iTunes browser.

You can "get all" to download all available episodes or just individual episodes.
step 3:

Plug your mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod) into your computer with the Dock Connector cable, and click the device in iTunes's left navigation bar.

Itunes_ss2

Once you have your device highlighted, click "Podcasts" in the top navigation bar and sync the podcasts you want on your device. Click "apply" and the episodes you have downloaded on your iTunes software will sync with your device.
that's it!

The beauty of this process is that now, every new episode of your subscribed podcasts will automatically sync to your device every time you plug it in and open iTunes. You can now take your favorite shows with you everywhere you go.

Enjoy!
